Receiving
When To Use
Use this recipe to identify everyday things to be grateful for. Discover that when you are in the process of receiving, you begin to receive a whole lot more to be grateful for.
Overview
There is a real art to receiving gifts. People give us gifts all the time, but how often do we stop and receive what these gifts truly mean to us? There are of course the “literal” special occasion gifts for birthdays and anniversaries etc, but we also receive gifts in the form of life lessons, insights, wisdom, and guidance.
I started a gratitude notebook a few years ago, and I love it. It is completely and utterly devoted to life-changing moments. It reminds me to be grateful for those moments, and the people in them, for giving me that experience, that gift.
I don’t write in it every day (otherwise it feels like a chore). I make an entry when I feel something or someone has significantly stood out and impacted my life.
Try this recipe, or use it as inspiration to create your own variation toward receiving and being grateful for your life. It’s a beautiful process to do this. Be grateful for all you are and the dreams and milestones you create every day!

Instructions - How to cook up life changing gifts
1 Take as little as two minutes each week (or day) to make a note of all the things you have enjoyed receiving, things you are grateful for. These could be gifts you have been given from friends, colleagues, or family, or simply insights, life lessons, or experiences you have received.
2 Keep writing in this notebook each week (or day), just making a note of the things you are grateful for.
3 Some days you will have more to say than others, and that’s okay. Just let your mind simmer gently on the gifts that you are genuinely grateful for.
4 Don’t feel you have to do this as a task to tick off your to-do list, or make things up to simply go through the motions. Just write what feels right.
